Class Descriptions
Pilates Mat Class – A system of holistic exercises to strengthen and stretch the body to improve tone and posture. Exercise for the mind, body and spirit that facilitate natural and correct movement. Teaches everyone how to use their body more efficiently and will benefit any other physical activities like golfing, walking and other sports. Creates long, lean muscle and improves balance and control. Based on the classic Pilates matwork.
Pilates Chair & Standing Class – An easy to moderately energetic routine which helps tone and strengthen the core, waist, hips and bottom as well as thighs, back and abs. The holistic series of gentle exercises to help create a stronger more flexible body and condition the mind and body creating better posture and strength for more enjoyment in other physical activities. Based on Pilates standing exercises and modification of classic Pilates exercises done with a chair instead of on a mat. Class time TBD. Currently seeking clients for class.

Hatha Yoga – MJ’s teaching style is fun, calming, and informative. Mary Jane teaches about the power of breath and the connection between breath and movement. Her classes leave you feeling balanced and renewed by linking poses in a flowing series to develop strength and flexibility for EVERY body. All levels are welcome to the multilevel classes!
Lunchtime Yoga – What a better way to brighten your afternoon by practicing yoga at lunch! This class will emphasize sun salutations and stretching to warm and waken the body. Focus will be on reopening the chest, shoulders and hips that tighten as we sit at our desks and drive our cars all day. Participants will leave feeling renewed, stretched-out and relaxed.
Please bring a mat, towel or strap and water bottle.
Mommy and Lil Yogi – Specialty yoga class for moms and their toddlers ages 3-6yrs. This will be a special bonding time for mom and child. The class will follow a traditional yoga class of warm-up, work phase and cool down. However for our little yogis it will revolve around fun and games to help build their social skills. The class will include yoga poses and stretches to increase awareness of their lil bodies. This will be a lot of fun for both mom and child!
Please bring water bottle and a mat for you and your little yogi.
Vinyasa Flow Yoga – A flowing yoga class that links movement to breath. Sun salutations, moon salutations, balance poses and more can be explored in this class. Participants can expect to increase their strength and flexibility, improve balance and coordination, reduce anxiety, and have fun. Class is suited for all levels; modifications for poses will be demonstrated allowing each individual to find a place within the pose that is right for them. This class will leave you feeling energized, restored and calm.
Please bring a mat, towel or strap and water bottle.
ZUMBA – Zumba is a dance fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movement which create a dynamic, exicting and effective fitness system! Zumba integrates some of the basic principles or aerobic, interval and resistance training to maximize caloric output. Ditch the workout, join the party with Tawny!
Please bring water bottle, towel and shoes with no traction.
T'ai Chi Ch'uan –Bust stress and boost your health with T'ai Chi Ch'uan! Learn “meditation in motion” from an experienced instructor.
T’ai Chi benefits: Reduces stress, Elevates mood, Lowers blood pressure,
Increases circulation, Improves balance, Improves coordination, Boosts cardiovascular fitness, and Bolsters immune system. Participants can comfortably practice T’ai Chi in everyday clothes and shoes. Classes include: Light physical warm-ups, Meditation, Chi kung (qigong), T’ai-Chi — Yang-style solo form (short form).
Belly Dancing – Learn the basic movements of Middle Eastern dance, more commonly referred to as “Belly Dance.” Increase and maintain flexibility and muscle tone with a head to toe workout that is low impact and easy on the joints, while strengthening core muscle groups and firming upper arms, thighs and calves. Maintain fitness while having fun!
